Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania was the second state in America to introduce legal sports betting, following neighbor New Jersey in 2018.
However, the high tax rates on gambling in Pennsylvania has meant it is a less attractive state for some of America’s biggest betting companies, and so residents aren’t enjoying the same kind of progress and benefits that are available in states which regulated after the Keystone State.
That’s not to say that Pennsylvania doesn’t score highly on the Wedge Index, but it’s position near the top is under threat and it does risk being passed by a whole wave of newcomers in 2021.
