New Jersey

New Jersey was the pioneer of legal sports betting after campaigns by then governor Chris Christie against the 1992 Professional Amateur and Sports Protection Act, which forbid individual states from making their own sports betting legislations.
The repealing of PASPA in 2018 paved the way for all of the positive changes around sports betting we currently see across America and for this reason alone, New Jersey deserves to stand atop the Wedge Index.
Atlantic City may not have the allure of Las Vegas, but the state of New Jersey is definitely now seen as the leading light in 21st Century American gambling.
