California is the great hope for a full legal, nationwide acceptance of online sports betting as where the biggest state of the union goes, the rest tend to follow.
At the moment there is a California State Lottery and there are race tracks and Indian Casinos, but there is no legal sports betting.
The Indian Tribes who run the state’s casinos are opposed to online sports betting bills, due to the revenue which they would lose, but would welcome retail betting, while the 40 million residents and the 50 million plus who visit the Golden State every year would probably just be happy with any movement at all.
